Exhibition will run from 14th - 26th August
Opening night will be held on the 14th of August 5.30-7pm all welcome.
Exhibiting Artist – Ross Gillies, Robin Walsh, Kenneth Doidge and Carol King
Printmaking, ceramics (clay) sculpture, photography and collage as well as at least 5 works in their specialist discipline. The works will be both free standing and wall hung.

-Ross Gillies - Born in 1952 and educated in Hastings. Ross has always had an interest in drawing and a fascination with the visual world around him. He studied fine arts in Otago and shifted to Christchurch to complete his Secondary teachers training. The next 30 plus years was spent teaching Art at 3 Canterbury Schools until 2008 when Ross left to concentrate on Art Production and the therapeutic applications of art process, in the mental health area.
-Ernest Robin Walsh - Born in 1945 educated in Christchurch, Robin spent many years as a designer for a local retail firm before he completed a theology Degree and pastured a number of Baptist Churches throughout New Zealand for many years. Robin has a close affinity with the Pacifica Culture and this influences the subject matter.
-Kenneth Doidge – Born and educated in Balclutha 1952. In the early seventies he went north to Otago to study Fine Arts and after graduation completed a post graduate ceramics qualification at Stoke on Trent, in the UK. He returned to South Otago and worked at McSkimmings and Teal Ceramics before moving to Christchurch in 1987. Ken sees himself as an artisan and works with the philosophical premise that form follows function
-Carol King – Born and educated in Christchurch then spent time overseas on her OE. She said that the Dadaist have a huge influence on the way she works, the spontaneous, the random the subconscious and the playful. Carol graduated with a design degree at Christchurch’s CPIT now ARA in 2001 and from the College of Education with a post Graduate Diploma in Teaching in 2002. Carol’s Major disciplines are Printmaking and Painting.
